Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She is an actor from Romania and Germany. Her best-known films include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16she already secured a number of TV roles which included the leading role in Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge from the commercially and critically popular Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. Additional Oscar nominated movies featuring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra worked on several notable national and international projects over the years. This includes the British biographical film Control Greek dramatic film The Dust of Time French historical Miniseries Napoleon, amongst others. Other roles she has held include being juror at each of The Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
