John Denver was a superstar artist who was a hit through his songs of pop-folk and many of them located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell new Mexico, but was enthralled by Colorado. He later made his way to Aspen. Denver's popular songs about his new state brought many people to Colorado. There isn't another performer that embodies Colorado like John Denver said G. Brown curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. In the year 2011, Denver was named the Hall of Fame's first inductee. Denver has become the image of Colorado for many people around the world. On my journeys around the world, I've encountered many people who are not from Colorado. They'll say, "Oh John Denver!" when they hear that you're from Colorado. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 hits after he performed with small folk bands. It was co-written by and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the song in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver heard an early version immediately, he realized the track could become a hit single. After the performance to a throng of fans on the streets of Washington D.C., the singer recorded this song.
